LOCATIONS

I've photographed all over the Panhandle but primarily I stay in South Walton County.  Below will be galleries of photos taken all over to include Rosemary Beach, Watersound Beach, Eden Gardens State Park, Seaside, Watercolor, Grayton Beach State Park and a beach in Destin near the Jetties. If you've never been the Panhandle area before, these location family portraits will give you an idea of what your images could look like. If you don't see your area listed here that's because most portrait sessions are on the beach where guests are staying.  And all of 30a, Miramar and Destin beaches pretty much look the same.  Beautiful white sand and blue green water.

Watercolor has a park named Cerulean Park and is located behind the Wine Bar.  It's a great location to photograph in because of the flowers and trees and SHADE!  I like to start here so that we can get some shady portraits without any wind.  As you know, the beach can be windy and is usually bright. That means good hair for the ladies!  We'd do the first 20 minutes of the session here and then head to the beach for the rest of the session.  It's a great option for sure!

Rosemary Beach has so much to offer for a portrait session!  There are shady boardwalks, the main street, pretty green spaces and areas around the Town Hall.  I like to start around Rosemary so that we can get some shady portraits without any wind.  As you know, the beach can be windy and is usually bright. That means good hair for the ladies!  We'd do the first 20 minutes of the session around Rosemary and then head to the beach for the rest of the session.  It's a great option for sure!  But, you have to be staying at Rosemary Beach to be photographed here.  Just an FYI.

Watersound is SO lovely!  It doesn't have a town area to photograph in but it has more beach walkways and boardwalks than any other resort.  There are a couple of bridges as well. I like getting a few portraits on the walk to the beach.  It's so pretty and not windy, which is important for a great hair day for the ladies.  As you know, the beach can be windy and is usually bright. The beaches here are also always less crowded than most of 30a.  So, if you are staying at Watersound...this is what you have to look forward to!  You also have to be staying at Watersound to be photographed here.

Eden Gardens is just amazing!    As you can see from the images, there are big trees, some of which are over 600 years old!  If you are NOT looking for a beach session, then this is for you!  I have a lot of clients who come every year and like to change it up.  It has so many spots on the property for amazing portraits. The only downside? Mosquitos. Bring and wear bug repellant!  But it's worth it!

Seaside is pretty famous.  It's also always very busy. But it sure is the quintessential beach town. Beautiful pavilions... a park in the center, pastel colors everywhere, a fun little town area, etc.  A few pictures below showcase only a tiny portion of Seaside. This is a great little spot for a morning session to be done in and around town and then finishing up on the beach.  Very versatile.  Very quaint. You cannot access Seaside's beaches unless you are staying there.  But there is a public access right beside Seaside, so a few pics could be taken in town and then use the public access.

Grayton Beach State Park is just fantastic.  I mean, the beach is amazing like everywhere else but it has a little path to go down that is just a lot of fun for pictures.    It's a very unique area.  Once through the path it opens up to dunes and dunes and dunes!  The best part?  No one is allowed to walk back there on those dunes so the backdrop is always free of people and buildings.  Just a beautiful location. It's a nice spot to get MORE than just beach photos during one session.

Destin has a great beach area near the Jetties.  The jetties are all those rocks that you see fisherman on at sunrise and sunset.  It is located near the Destin Bridge so this location is great for people who are NOT staying on Highway 30a.  This public beach has is pretty huge with lots of dunes in the background.  There aren't a lot of dunes along the beaches besides the state parks and those are roped off.  Also, the sun sets over the water at this location and ONLY this location.  BECAUSE, it's the Destin Pass that leads into the Choctawhatchee Bay ie. Intercoastal Waterway.  It's a nice bonus for me anyhow.  This location has become quite popular over the years so it does tend to be busy but it's big enough we can all usually find good spots.  You'll notice in a picture or two, the yellow flowers.  That is on one side of the dunes away from the water.  A pretty option. :)
