Ok, I will list a few questions that I see online often and provide some answers. These answers are for me…. so may not be the same for other photographers who work on 30a. But here goes!

How long does it take to get photos back after a session?

For me, I strive to have photos edited and uploaded within 2 weeks of the session date. I know this varies per photographer. But that is my turn around time, even during the busy months of summer.

How far in advance should I book a photography session?

The sooner you book the better because there is only one sunset per day. So, if you want your choice of dates during your vacation, I’d say to book the photographer right after booking your accommodations. I have some clients who want a session the first couple of days before risk of getting burned. Then I have other clients who prefer later in the week so they have a tan. Either way, with limited beach portrait sessions available per day, it’s best to book early.

How many photos will I get from my session?

That depends on the package chosen. I offer three options with the smallest package containing 40 images, the next has 60 and the Largest package includes all images in a gallery. That does not mean I only upload 40 or 60 images in the first two options. For the Small Family package I usually upload about 125 images for you to choose your 40 from. For the Large Family Package I usually upload around 150-160 edited images to choose from. So the Multi-Family Package will have 150-200 edited images uploaded. Those are estimations but after 26 years I know what I usually end up with after a session.

Do I get digital files or prints with my package?

From me, you will receive digital files. Once you select your 40 or 60 images I then send a download link for you to put them directly on your computer and/or hard drive. When you get the package that includes everything, you have the ability to download one photo at a time or the download all feature in the gallery and you’ll receive that download link directly from the gallery host. Easier than the old days of burning CDs and making thumb drives. I’ve had so many thumb drives fail. I’d buy brand new drives from reputable companies for photographers and they wouldn’t last. I kept getting emails asking if I had a backup of their images because the USB wouldn’t work. So, download is the best option. You, the client, can then store them in the cloud, on an external or on your computer. I suggest two locations always.

What happens if it rains and I need to reschedule or cancel?

If it looks like rain, I try to move your schedule time around to avoid the rain. If that doesn’t work, I try to reschedule for another time during your stay. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll refund the deposit. If you need to cancel within 2 weeks of a session that does not involve weather, I will hold your deposit and it can be applied to your future booked session.
